100 hours for 100 years is an extraordinary and unique way to celebrate the Centennial of the Diocese of Lafayette. Beginning on Wednesday April 4 at 12:30 p.m., the Bible will be read publicly cover to cover without pause in the Square of St. Martinville. The Marathon will conclude on Divine Mercy Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Bishop Michael Jarrel will conclude with the closing chapters of the Book of Revelation. Over 300 lectors will read for 10 minute intervals. Lectors from churches throughout Acadiana will be participating.
Three lectors from St. Peter Parish will be reading from the Bible on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Parishioners are encouraged to attend and hear them read on this day.
