Bienvenue à Gueydan!
Established in the late 1800′s on “worthless, marshy” lands, Gueydan has become internationally known for ducks and geese, while the town, itself, is a bird sanctuary. St. Peter the Apostle Church is located in this town found in the southwestern corner of the Diocese of Lafayette, LA. It was founded in 1907 and has had many good Priests and Sisters who served the people of God in Gueydan. Check out our history to learn where we have come from.
