St Peter Catholic Elementary School in Gueydan, Louisiana is now accepting applications for the position of Principal to start July 16, 2010 and to continue for at least 12 months.  St. Peter School is an accredited co-ed school with an enrollment of 100 students in grades Pre-K through 8.

The Principal has responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the school.  A strong vision of both Catholic identity and academic excellence is important as this position assists in developing long-range goals.  The Principal also works in close cooperation with the Pastor of St. Peter Church and the advisory bodies of the Parish Council and the School Board.

The qualifications for the successful applicant include the following:

1-    must be a practicing Catholic with a commitment to the philosophy of Catholic education

2-    must hold a master’s degree in educational administration, or related field, with a minimum of five years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience

3-    must meet all Diocesan and State standards for school Principals

4-    must posses excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for developing and maintaining a religious oriented and a top academic school
